Classic Romanoff Sauce for strawberries
for comparison here is a classic Romanoff sauce to serve on strawberries, close to the version served at La Madeleine restaurants Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp brandy (or vanilla)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp sugar
Directions
- blend sour cream, brown sugar and brandy until well mixed
- in separate bowl whip cream until it begins to thicken and add sugar - whip until thick
- fold whipped cream into sour cream mixture and blend well
- serve as sauce for strawberries or other sliced fruit
