This is a very old recipe that I have added or deleted ingredients to suit my taste and my families. These cookies are "to die for". They are that delicious.

    Ingredients

    • 2 1/2 cups flour (I use pastry flour to a delicate taste)
    • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1 cup butter (no substitutes)
    • 1 cup chunky peanut butter
    • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar, divided
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 2 to 3 Butterfinger candy bars, finely chopped

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 375 F
    2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
    3. In a mixer bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and 1 cup of the granulated sugar until light and fluffy
    4. Beat in the eggs and vanilla
    5. Beat in the finely chopped Butterfinger candy bars.
    6. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients just until combined
    7. Shape into tablespoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls
    8. Roll in the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
    9. Place 3 inches apart onto 2 ungreased cookie sheets
    10. With a sugar coated tines of a fork, press and flatten each ball, making a criss-cross pattern.
    11. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden
    12. Cool on cookie sheets for 3 minutes
    13. Transfer to racks to cool completely
