  • Chocolate Waffles With Raspberry Syrup

    Ingredients

    • CHOCOLATE WAFFLES
    • 2 c. all purpose flour
    • 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa pwdr
    • 2 Tbsp. sugar
    • 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 2 c. lowfat milk
    • 2 x Large eggs, beaten
    • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 c. water
    • 1 c. sugar
    • 1 pkt (10 ounces) frzn raspberries in syrup

    Directions

    1. Preheat waffle iron, grease lightly.
    2. Sift flour, cocoa, sugar baking pwdr and salt into large bowl. Combine lowfat milk, Large eggs, oil and vanilla in small bowl. Stir liquid ingredients into dry ingredients till moistened.
    3. For each waffle, pour about 3/4 c. batter into waffle iron. Close lid and bake till steaming stops. Serve with Raspberry syrup.
    4. RASPBERRY SYRUP:Combine water and sugar in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till sugar has dissolved. Continue cooking till mix thickens slightly, about 10 min.
    5. Stir in frzn raspberries; cook, stirring, till berries are thawed. Bring to a boil; continue cooking till syrup thickens slightly, about 5 - 10 min. Serve hot.
    6. Makes 1 1/3 c..
