Chocolate Waffles With Raspberry Syrup
Ingredients
- CHOCOLATE WAFFLES
- 2 c. all purpose flour
- 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa pwdr
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 2 x Large eggs, beaten
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 pkt (10 ounces) frzn raspberries in syrup
Directions
- Preheat waffle iron, grease lightly.
- Sift flour, cocoa, sugar baking pwdr and salt into large bowl. Combine lowfat milk, Large eggs, oil and vanilla in small bowl. Stir liquid ingredients into dry ingredients till moistened.
- For each waffle, pour about 3/4 c. batter into waffle iron. Close lid and bake till steaming stops. Serve with Raspberry syrup.
- RASPBERRY SYRUP:Combine water and sugar in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till sugar has dissolved. Continue cooking till mix thickens slightly, about 10 min.
- Stir in frzn raspberries; cook, stirring, till berries are thawed. Bring to a boil; continue cooking till syrup thickens slightly, about 5 - 10 min. Serve hot.
