Chocolate Covered Cherry Surprises
Ingredients
- 40 maraschino cherries, well liquid removed
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1/4 c. powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 c. flour
Directions
- 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2. In small bowl, cream butter, powdered sugar and vanilla.
- 3. Add in flour, mix till well combined.
- 4. Wrap about 1 tsp. dough around each cherry to completely cover.
- 5. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- 6. Bake 8-10 min or possibly till lightly browned on edges.
- 7. Cold.
- 8. In small saucepan, combine coating ingredients.
- 9. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, till chocolate chips are melted.
- 10. Place cookies on wire racks over waxed paper.
- 11. Spoon chocolate coating over cookies to cover. (Coating which drips off can be reused.)
