  • Chocolate Chunk Butter Pecan Bars

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1 cup butter, softened
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 2 cups flour
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1 3/4 cups milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chunks
    • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans

    Directions

    1. Heat the oven to 350 F
    2. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan
    3. In a large mixer bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter, egg yolk, and the vanilla
    4. Blend in the flour and the salt
    5. Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
    6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned
    7. Remove from the oven
    8. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chunks onto the warm crust.
    9. Allow to stand until softened, about 5 minutes
    10. Spread evenly over the crust
    11. Sprinkle with the pecans
    12. Cool completely
    13. Cut into bars
