Chocolate Chunk Butter Pecan Bars

- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 3/4 cups milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Directions
- Heat the oven to 350 F
- Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan
- In a large mixer bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter, egg yolk, and the vanilla
- Blend in the flour and the salt
- Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned
- Remove from the oven
- Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chunks onto the warm crust.
- Allow to stand until softened, about 5 minutes
- Spread evenly over the crust
- Sprinkle with the pecans
- Cool completely
- Cut into bars
