  • Chili Mac - a - Weenie

    This is a recipe I threw together one evening, I have 5 boys at home, and we didn't have a lot in the fridge so, hope you all like it.

    Ingredients

    • 1lb lean ground beef
    • 2pkg beef franks
    • 1 small onion
    • Chilli Powder (to taste)
    • 1tsp Cumin
    • 1 8oz can diced tomatoes
    • 1 8oz can tomato sauce
    • 1lb elbow macaroni
    • 16 oz Cheddar Cheese

    Directions

    1. Brown ground beef
    2. Dice onion
    3. add chilli powder and cumin
    4. add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce
    5. slice franks about 1/2 inch thick
    6. bring all to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes
    7. boil noodles till slightly firmer than aldent
    8. drain noodles
    9. add noodles to chilli
    10. pour half of mixture into baking pan
    11. sprinkle with cheddar cheese
    12. pour other half of mixture on top of first layer
    13. sprinkle with cheese
    14. bake for 15 - 20 minutes
    15. serve over hot dog rolls, or white bread
    16. top with sour cream if desired
