Chicken Livers Sauteed With Apples &Onion Rings
Ingredients
- 24 chicken livers
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 4 T flour
- 6 T butter
- 1 Spanish onion (med.), sliced in rings
- 8 apple slices, 1/2" thick
- 4 T sugar
Directions
- Season lightly with salt and paprika. Sprinkle lightly with flour. Cook gently in 4 tbsp butter till browned. In another pan cook onion in a little butter, sprinkle over cooked livers. In third pan brown apple slice in remaining butter. Sprinkle with sugar to give glaze and flavor. Put on top of livers and onions. Very good and different from the ordinary fare. Yield: 4 servings.
