Chicken Kalbi
A popular poultry dish among Korean students, made in a microwave. Ingredients
- 1 lb. chicken, deboned and julienned
- ½ lb. potatoes, julienned (or ¼ lb. potatoes and ¼ lb. rice cakes)
- ½ onion, sliced
- ½ cup cabbage, chiffonaded
- ¼ cup hung shao sauce
- ¼ cup red pepper paste (koch'ujang)
Directions
- Marinade the chicken in the hung shao sauce.
- Cook and onions and potatoes, covered, with 950 watts for three minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade, add to the potatoes and onions, and heat, covered, for eight minutes at 650 watts.
- Mix the marinade and the red pepper paste. Add this and the cabbage to the rest and stir, then cook, covered, for five minutes with 650 watts.
- Stir and let stand for a couple minutes.
