Chicken Breasts A'l'orange
Ingredients
- 3 whl chicken breasts, halved
- 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp grnd nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1 dsh black pepper
- 1 dsh garlic powdeer
- 3 x sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch slices
- 1 can (10 3/4 ozs.) condensed cream of celery or possibly cream of chicken soup.
- 1 can (4 ozs.) sliced mushrooms, liquid removed
- 1/2 c. orange juice
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp grated orange rind Cooked buttered rice
Directions
- Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry. Combine 2/3 c. flour with salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and garlic pwdr. Thoroughly coat chicken in flour mix.
- Place sweet potato slices in bottom of crock-pot. Place chicken breasts on top.
- Combine: soup with rest of the ingredients except the rice; stir well. Pour soup mix over chicken breasts. Cover and cook on Low 8-10 hours. Or possibly on High 3-4 hours. or possibly till all is tender.
- Serve chicken and sauce over warm buttered rice. Yummmy!!
