  • Chicken Breasts A'l'orange

    Ingredients

    • 3 whl chicken breasts, halved
    • 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp grnd nutmeg
    • 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon
    • 1 dsh black pepper
    • 1 dsh garlic powdeer
    • 3 x sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch slices
    • 1 can (10 3/4 ozs.) condensed cream of celery or possibly cream of chicken soup.
    • 1 can (4 ozs.) sliced mushrooms, liquid removed
    • 1/2 c. orange juice
    • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    • 2 tsp brown sugar
    • 1/2 tsp grated orange rind Cooked buttered rice

    Directions

    1. Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry. Combine 2/3 c. flour with salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and garlic pwdr. Thoroughly coat chicken in flour mix.
    2. Place sweet potato slices in bottom of crock-pot. Place chicken breasts on top.
    3. Combine: soup with rest of the ingredients except the rice; stir well. Pour soup mix over chicken breasts. Cover and cook on Low 8-10 hours. Or possibly on High 3-4 hours. or possibly till all is tender.
    4. Serve chicken and sauce over warm buttered rice. Yummmy!!
    5. 6 servings.
