Cherries Jubilee
Ingredients
- 1 can (30z) pitted sweet Cherries Freshly squeezed orange Juice
- 2 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
- 2 tsp Grated orange peel
- 1/2 c. Orange and/or possibly cherry Liqueur
- 1 quart Vanilla or possibly burgundy cherry Ice cream
Directions
- Drain cherry liquid; add in orange juice to measure 1 1/2 c..
- Combine sugar and cornstarch in chafing dish or possibly skillet. Stir in the liquid to make a smooth sauce. Cook till thickened and bubbly, about 1 minute.
- Add in cherries and lemon peel; heat till hot.
- Heat liqueur(s). Pour over cherries; don't stir. Carefully light the dessert, spoon flaming sauce over cherries till the flames subside. Spoon cherries and sauce around individual servings of ice cream, serve at once.
