Cheesy Meatloaf
Cheesy Meatloaf is the ultimate comfort food that always takes you back home. This is the moistest, juiciest variation with a couple extra cheesy surprises! Your kids will love it! Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 egg, beaten
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt (I use Lawry’s)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 cup crushed crackers (I have only used Ritz)
- (2 slices bread-optional for lining a loaf pan on the bottom)
- For Glaze:
- 1 jar (12 oz) chili sauce (I recommend Homade)
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix all meatloaf ingredients together, except the 2 bread slices and Glaze. Shape into a loaf. Line a 1½ quart loaf pan with the bread slices (the bread absorbs the grease and should be discarded after loaf is removed from oven).
- In a small bowl combine the chili sauce and the brown sugar. Stir well.
- Place meatloaf on top of the bread slices and pour the glaze mixture over the top. Bake loaf for 45-50 minutes, or until done.
