cheesy Biscuits
A Nice Soft baking powder biscuit, with Cheese. Great to Serve with Chili or Meat sauce Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Shortening (margarine)
- 1 3/4 cup Flour
- 2 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
- 3/4 Tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 2 cup Shredded Cheese(Mozza and Cheddar)
Directions
- 1/3 cup Shortening (margarine)
- 1 3/4 cup Flour
- 2 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
- 3/4 Tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 2 cup Shredded Cheese(Mozza and Cheddar)
- Heat oven to 450 degrees. Cut shortening into the flour, baking powder and the salt with pastry blender or 2 knives. Stir in milk. Turn dough onto a lightly floured board. Knead 10 times. Roll to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a cookie cutter with any shape( I use butterfly and hearts shapes). Place on a ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
- Variations:
- ~ add some fresh chopped garlic and some fresh or dried basil or oregano. Perfect pairing for a lasagna or spaghetti and meatsauce
