Cheese And Ham Bread And Butter Pudding
Ingredients
- 6 x thick slices of sourdough bread
- 50 gm butter softened
- 150 gm proper ham cut into large chunks
- 150 x gfarmhouse cheddar (such as Keens Montgomerys or possibly Isle of Mull) grated
- 400 ml lowfat milk
- 3 lrg Large eggs
Directions
- Butter the bread and place 3 slices in the base of an ovenproof dish.
- Top with the ham and half the cheese.
- Then top with the remaining bread slices butterside up.
- Whisk together the lowfat milk Large eggs and plenty of salt and pepper and pour slowly over the bread.
- Sprinkle over theremaining cheese leave for 10 to 15 min then bake at 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4 for 40 to 45 min till puffed up and golden.
- Once prepared leave to soak for about 10 min before baking.
- Serves 4
