  • Buckingham Palace Scones Variant

    Ingredients

    • 3 1/2 c. flour
    • 1 pch salt
    • 3/4 c. butter
    • 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
    • 1/2 c. sugar
    • 1 x egg
    • 1/2 c. lowfat milk

    Directions

    1. Cut together butter, flour, salt and baking pwdr. Add in sugar.
    2. Make well in center of the mix; add in egg and small amount of lowfat milk.
    3. If mix appears to be too dry, add in more lowfat milk. Blend to a nice, smooth dough.
    4. Put half the dough in 8 x 11 baking pan. Covered the dough with Black Current Preserves and used the last half of the dough to cover the preserves.
    5. Bake in 350-degree F oven for 10-15 min. Center of bottom should be lightly colored.
    6. Serve warm.
