  • Bohemian Bread Dumplings

    • 2 c. Flour
    • 1 tsp Salt
    • 2 tsp Baking pwdr
    • 2 x Large eggs
    • 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
    • 1 slc Bread

    Directions

    1. It sounds like your trying toduplicate a recipe for bread dumplings. My father's side of the family is Czech. Here's their recipe for bread dumplings, and it's a no fail one at which.
    2. Sift together flour, salt, and baking pwdr. Add in Large eggs, lowfat milk, and 2 slices of bread. Mix well. Form into two dumplings. Let stand exactly 30 min.
    3. Boil 12 min on one side and 12 min on the other side. Slice into 1/2-inch slices. Serve immediately.
    4. I sometimes make a double batch of these and freeze the loaves individually. I defrost the dumplings at room temperature. To reheat the dumplings, you can either steam them or possibly reheat in the microwave covered with a damp paper towel.
