Blackened Fillet Of Tuna With Horseradish And Tomato Relish
Ingredients
- 4 x Tuna fillets Blackening seasoning Extra virgin olive oil Horseradish and Tomato Relish Blackening Seasoning HORSERADISH AND TOMATO RELISH:
- 2 x Ripe medium tomatoes, coarsely minced
- 1 Tbsp. Finely diced red onion
- 1 Tbsp. Fresh horseradish, minced fine
- 1 Tbsp. Chopped jalapeno
- 1/4 c. Fresh lime juice
- 1 Tbsp. Ancho chile pwdr
- 1/4 c. Coarsely minced cilantro Salt and freshly grnd pepper
- 3/4 c. Paprika
- 3/4 c. Cracked black pepper
- 1/4 c. Salt
- 2 Tbsp. Toasted crushed cumin seeds
- 2 Tbsp. Chopped garlic
- 2 Tbsp. Chopped onion
Directions
- Prepare wood or possibly charcoal grill and let it burn down to embers.
- Brush extra virgin olive oil on tuna fillets and dredge in blackening seasoning on one side. Place tuna blackened side down on grill. Grill for 3 min on one side and 2 min on the other for medium rare. Serve warm with Horseradish and Tomato Relish.
- HORSERADISH AND TOMATO RELISH: Combine the tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, lime juice, chile pwdr and cilantro in a bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- BLACKENING SEASONING: Combine all seasoning ingredients.
