Betty's Ultimate Spaghetti
This is actually my wife's spaghetti recipe and it's fantastic. I never, never order spaghetti when we dine out. Even at some of the best Italian restaurants, I find it very bland, offering mostly tomato sauce with out much flavor. I think you'll love this one. Ingredients
- 16 oz lean Ground beef
- 1 Medium Onion diced
- 1 bell pepper diced
- 24 oz Tomato Sauce
- 14.5 oz Stewed tomatoes, crush with hand
- 14.5 oz Water
- 1 tbsp Dried Basil
- 1 tbsp Dried oregano
- 1 tbsp Chili powder
- 1 tbsp Parsley Flakes
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 4 Beef or chicken bullion cubes
- 1 tsp Accent seasoning (optional)
- Spaghetti, 24 oz
Directions
- 1. Add 2 tablespoon of olive oil and Saute the ground beef, diced onion and bell pepper together until meat is browned. Drain liquid and return to pan.
- 2. Add all spices, tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes and water to meat and simmer twenty (20) minutes.
- 3. Bring four quarts of water to a boil and add 2 tablespoons of salt and 1 1/2 pounds of spaghetti. Stir until water returns to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 8 to 9 minutes to desired tenderness. Drain and plate. Add desired amount of sauce to each serving. Serve and enjoy.
- *NOTE: Because of the bullion cubes, make sure you taste before adding salt.
