I got the original recipe for Refrigerator Oatmeal from theyummylife.com. She has all kinds of flavors on her site. You make these in small mason type jars. My husband and I made a few modifications and have our favorite posted here. One thing we like it to switch out the oatmeal for multigrain hot cereal. This takes a few minutes to get put together. Mine last 3-4 days in the fridge (if they make it that far). I suggest if you are going to use frozen berries you put them in a bowl lined with paper towels to thaw for about 15 mins. Directions are for one jar, you can do one or as many as you wish. You can switch out the berries for what you have on hand.

    Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup uncooked old fashioned rolled oats or multigrain hot cereal uncooked
    • 1/3 cup skim milk
    • 1/4 cup fat free Greek yogurt, vanilla
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried chia seeds
    • 1 teaspoons maple syrup (more or less to taste)
    • 1/4 cup raspberries, halved (or enough to fill jar)
    • 1 halfpint jar with lid

    Directions

    1. In a half pint (1 cup) jar, add oats, milk, yogurt, chia seeds, and maple syrup.
    2. Put lid on the jar and shake until ingredients are well combined.
    3. Remove the lid and add raspberries then stir until mixed throughout.
    4. Return lid to jar and refrigerate overnight or up to 3 days. Eat chilled.
