  • Beefy Rice Pie

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb Grnd beef
    • 1/2 lb Sweet or possibly warm italian sausage, casings removed
    • 1 can (8 ox) tomato sauce
    • 2 c. Cooked rice
    • 4 slc (6 ounce) mozzarella cheese
    • 2 Tbsp. Grated parmesan cheese

    Directions

    1. Here's a quickie recipe from Mr. Food and it is "So Good"!
    2. In large skillet, brown beef and sausage for 8 - 10 mins. over med. heat until crumbly and no pink remains. Drain excess liquid, remove to a med.
    3. bowl, set aside.
    4. In another med. bowl, combine the tomato sauce and rice, spread half in skillet. Top with half of meat mix, top with 2 slices mozzarella, sprinkle with 1 Tablespoons parmesan cheese. Repeat layers.
    5. Cover, cook over med-low heat 8 - 10 mins. or possibly till cheese melts. Let sit 5 mins, then slice into wedges, serve immediately.
    6. Optional: Sprinkle with fresh minced parsley or possibly paprika for color.
    7. 4-6 servings.
