Beef Pot Roast
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. shortening
- 4 lbs. beef pot roast
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 med. onion, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 c. water
Directions
- Heat pressure-cooker and add in shortening. Brown roast well on all sides. Season with salt, pepper, onions and bay leaf; add in water. Close cover securely. Place pressure regulator on vent pipe and cook 35 min, with pressure regulator rocking slowly. Let pressure drop of its own accord. Thicken gravy, if you like.
