Basic Quiche
This is my first quiche recipe that I learned from my Oz trip. Ingredients
- 4eggs
- 2 cups half-and-half cream
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 4 ounces quickmelt cheese (shredded)
- 2 ounces mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
- I put diced bacon when desired
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F or 220 degrees Celsius
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and half-and-half. Season with salt, white pepper and nutmeg. Place shredded cheeses in the pie shell, I mix them together or sprinkle them alternately.
- Pour egg mixture over cheese.
- Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake for 25 minutes, or until crust is golden and filling is set.
- Allow to set 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
