  • Basic Quiche

    This is my first quiche recipe that I learned from my Oz trip.

    Ingredients

    • 4eggs
    • 2 cups half-and-half cream
    • 1/8 tsp salt
    • 1/4 tsp white pepper
    • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
    • 4 ounces quickmelt cheese (shredded)
    • 2 ounces mozzarella cheese (shredded)
    • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
    • I put diced bacon when desired

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F or 220 degrees Celsius
    2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and half-and-half. Season with salt, white pepper and nutmeg. Place shredded cheeses in the pie shell, I mix them together or sprinkle them alternately.
    3. Pour egg mixture over cheese.
    4. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake for 25 minutes, or until crust is golden and filling is set.
    5. Allow to set 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
