Basic Artichoke Recipe
This basic artichoke recipe is the perfect side dish as it complements almost any main course. It's flagrant and delicious. I used to shy away from artichokes because I did not know how to prepare them. Once I learned, I realized it was not so difficult and had missed out on such a great veggie! Hope you enjoy the recipe. Ingredients
- 1 Artichoke
- 1/2 Lemon, Juiced
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt to Taste
Directions
- *Clean the Artichoke: 1)Wash 2)Trim off the top about 1 inch or so 3)With scissors, cut the sharp end of the leaves 4)Chop off the hard stem 5)After it's cooked, scoop out the center flowers.
- *Add the artichoke to boiling water, cook on medium for about 30-40 minutes. Drain.
- *Place the artichoke on a serving platter.
- *Drizzle olive oil and lemon juice.
- *Salt to taste.
- *To eat, peel each leaf and eat. It's definitely a finger food!
