Baked asparagus with balsamic sauce and bulgur
Delicious and healthy dish wonderful in taste and aroma. Ingredients
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus (500 g)
- 1 tbs olive oil
- Pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tbs butter
- 1 tbs soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar
Directions
- Prepare and trim asparagus: slightly bend each stalk and allow it to "snap" naturally - it will break exactly at the point where the stalk begins to be thick and woody. Remove the hard parts.
- Arrange asparagus spears in a row in an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Bake in an oven at 200°C for 15-20 minutes or until tender (depending on thickness of spears).
- In the meantime, cook the bulgur according to manufacturer's instructions. Set aside.
- Melt butter in a nonstick saucepan over medium heat, then remove from heat. Stir in the soy sauce and vinegar to make a sauce. Stir for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
- Pour the sauce over the baked asparagus spears and serve with bulgur.
