Apple Cheddar Bread
Quick bread for breakfast or snacks. Try it toasted. Ingredients
- 2 1/2 C AP flour (can sub some whole wheat flour)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 C unsalted butter, soft, or just use oil
- 1 C sugar
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/4 C buttermilk
- 1tsp. vanilla
- 1 C grated apples
- 1 C grated sharp cheddar cheese
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 and grease and flour a 9" bread pan.
- Mix dry ingredients together.
- Cream sugar with butter, add wet ingredients and stir well.
- Combo wet and dry ingredients, barely incorporate them into a batter.
- Spoon into pan and bake 45 minutes.
- Begin doing a toothpick test every 5 minutes until it comes out clean.
- Let cool on rack at least 20 minutes before removing from pan.
- It will taste good warm, but the crumb will be denser, if you wait an hour.
