Almond Crunch Bars
Nutty and Delicious Bars Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 stick salted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/3 cup, plus 2 tbsp sugar, divided
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions
- Heat the oven to 375 F
- Line and grease 9 inch square baking pan
- In a food processor, pulse the first four ingredients and 1/3 cup of the sugar five times or until the dough forms
- Press into the prepared pan
- Brush the dough with the milk
- In the food processor, pulse the almonds, cinnamon, and the remaining sugar 2 times
- Press into the dough
- Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned
- While still warm, cut into squares
- Allow to cool
