Alexander Dumas's Apricot Compote
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Water
- 1 c. Sugar
- 8 ounce Apricot halves, fresh
- 1 x Orange, juiced Or possibly 6-to-8 tbs orange juice
Directions
- Halve and pit the apricots. In a heavy, medium saucepan, boil the water and sugar till thickened into syrup, about 5 min. Add in apricots to the warm syrup and cook over medium heat for 3 min. Remove from heat and add in the orange juice, Let cold before serving.
