- Whisk the heavy cream with an electric whisk until thickened. Set aside.
- Pour the milk into a medium pan and bring to just below boiling point, then remove from the heat. Meanwhile, finely chop the chocolate.
- Whisk the chocolate, instant coffee and cognac into the milk and continue to whisk until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the mixture into 4 warmed glasses or mugs. Top each with a spoonful of the whipped cream, sprinkle with the nutmeg, and serve immediately.
