Southern Baked Pork Chops

Tangy and delicious. Makes a sauce as it cooks!

Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops, 1/2" thick
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. finely minced celery
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown in oil in a skillet.
  3. Place in shallow baking dish.
  4. Combine water, celery, dry mustard, brown sugar and tomato sauce in a bowl and pour over chops.
  5. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until chops are tender, basting occasionally.
