Ingredients

  • 2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • Few grains of salt
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. dark molasses
  • 1/4 c. sour lowfat milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon soda

Directions

  1. Sift together flour, ginger and salt. Work in shortening; add in molasses, sour lowfat milk and soda dissolved in a little warm water; mix well and drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 min. Yield: 3 dozen.
