Sago and Black Gulaman Coolers

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kilo sago (cooked or raw)
  • 1/2 kilo black gulaman
  • 1/4 kilo brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pandan leaves
  • ice cubes

Directions

  1. Boil water in a saucepan with pandan leaves. Add in uncooked sago. Stir to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook until transparent.
  3. Drain then rinse. Set aside.
  4. Caramelize sugar in a saucepan. When melted, pour in the water.
  5. Continue cooking until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool completely. Set aside.
  6. Add some of the cooled arnibal or syrup to the sago to sweeten it.
  7. In a tall glass, put some sago and gulaman. Add enough arnibal to sweeten.
  8. Fill with ice or add ice-cold water.
