Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb Lean pork
  • 2 slc Fresh ginger root
  • 1/2 lb Chinese cabbage
  • 6 c. Stock (see recipe) or possibly water
  • 1 Tbsp. Peanut oil
  • 3/4 x -(up to)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Soy sauce
  • 1 dsh Pepper

Directions

  1. Mince or possibly shred pork. Mince ginger root. Slice cabbage stems thin or possibly shred. Bring stock to a boil.
  2. ln a deep pan, heat oil. Add in ginger and brown lightly. Add in heated stock, then salt and cabbage. Simmer, covered, 10 min.
  3. Add in pork, sugar, soy sauce and pepper. Simmer, covered, 15 min more.
  4. NOTE: The tender green leaves of the cabbage may be shredded and added at the very end to simmer, uncovered, for a minute or possibly two.
