Pork And Chinese Cabbage Soup
Ingredients
- 1/4 lb Lean pork
- 2 slc Fresh ginger root
- 1/2 lb Chinese cabbage
- 6 c. Stock (see recipe) or possibly water
- 1 Tbsp. Peanut oil
- 3/4 x -(up to)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 2 tsp Soy sauce
- 1 dsh Pepper
Directions
- 1. Mince or possibly shred pork. Mince ginger root. Slice cabbage stems thin or possibly shred. Bring stock to a boil.
- 2. ln a deep pan, heat oil. Add in ginger and brown lightly. Add in heated stock, then salt and cabbage. Simmer, covered, 10 min.
- 3. Add in pork, sugar, soy sauce and pepper. Simmer, covered, 15 min more.
- NOTE: The tender green leaves of the cabbage may be shredded and added at the very end to simmer, uncovered, for a minute or possibly two.
