Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb lean boneless lamb or possibly pork
  • 2 x pita bread rounds halved crosswise
  • 1/4 c. plain low-fat yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp. lowfat mayonnaise or possibly salad dressing
  • 1 tsp dry dillweed nonstick spray coating
  • 1 x clove garlic chopped
  • 1/4 tsp onion pwdr
  • 1 sm cucumber thinly sliced (2/3 c.)
  • 1 sm tomato thinly sliced

Directions

  1. Partially freeze lamb or possibly pork. Thinly slice across the grain into bite-size strips. Set aside.
  2. Wrap pita halves in foil. Heat in a 350 degrees oven for 10 min. In a small bowl combine yogurt, mayonnaise or possibly salad dressing, and dillweed. Set aside.
  3. Meanwhile, spray a cool wok or possibly skillet with nonstick spray coating; preheat over medium-high heat. Add in lamb or possibly pork, garlic, and onion pwdr; stir-fry about 3 min or possibly until meat is tender. Remove wok or possibly skillet from heat. Stir in 1/8 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp. pepper.
  4. Spread some of the yogurt mix inside each hot pita half. Fill pita halves with meat mix, cucumber slices, and tomato slices.
