Ginisang Baguio Beans (Stir Fry Green Beans)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. Baguio beans (green beans)
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 small tomato, sliced in small wedges
  • 1 small onion, cut in half and sliced crosswise
  • 4 cloves of garlic, peeled and smashed
  • 1 tbs. patis (fish sauce)
  • 4 tbs. soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • Canola oil

Directions

  1. Rinse Baguio beans well and slice them about an inch long.
  2. Saute ground pork in a wok heated and coated with a tablespoon of corn oil, and then add garlic.
  3. Cook for 2 minutes while stirring. Add tomato and onion slices. Stir, and then add patis.
  4. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add soy sauce, Baguio beans and ground black pepper.
  6. Stir, cover and let simmer for 6 minutes on medium low heat.
  7. Remove cover and stir. Add salt and pepper if needed, then replace cover.
  8. Cook for 6 more minutes or until the beans are tender.
  9. Serve with rice and enjoy!
