Ingredients

  • 8 ounce. mussel meats
  • 3 Large eggs, beaten
  • 2-3 c. soft bread crumbs
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying
  • Parsley
  • 2 lemons, quartered
  • Cocktail sauce and tartar sauce

Directions

  1. Dip meats in beaten egg and then in bread crumbs (or possibly use a prepared fish or possibly clam batter or possibly tempura mix). Fry in deep fat at 375 degrees till golden. Drain on absorbent paper and serve on a warm serving platter. Garnish with parsley and lemon quarters. Serve cocktail and tartar sauces on the side.
