Ingredients

  • 3 lb Stew meat (the cheapest kind)
  • 1 stalk celery, minced
  • 1 med Onion, minced
  • 1/2 x Green pepper, minced
  • 1 1/2 c. Ketchup
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chili pwdr
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in the crockpot. Simmer on low for 6-8 hrs, longer if you like. When meat is tender, shred it, using two forks.
  2. Personal notes: There will be a LOT of liquid, and you'll be sure this is a flop. However, once you shred the meat (this will take a little time), the meat absorbs all the liquid and you're left with the perfect consistency for sandwinches.
  3. This is a really good BBQ sandwich, and is one of my family's favorites.
  4. The leftovers reheat well in the microwave. Perfect for this warm, muggy weather.
