Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup AP Flour
  • 1 cup Corn Meal
  • one teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of iodized salt
  • one large Beaten Egg
  • 3 tablespoon melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons Pure Honey

Directions

  1. Pre Heat Oven 400 F
  2. I use a square cast iron skillet (well greased). A 10" regular cast iron skillet will work as any oven safe baking dish.
  3. In a large mixing bowl add AP Flour through salt and mix using a fork
  4. Add beaten egg, butter, honey and stir to combine (do not over-mix batter)
  5. Pour into your skillet and place in the middle rack of the oven and bake 22-24 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  6. Cut into squares and enjoy. You can drizzle additional honey over warm corn bread squares, if desired.
