Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef stew meat
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. veg. oil
  • 1 can golden brown mushroom soup
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1 sm onion thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 sm head cabbage or possibly Chinese cabbage (6 c.) cut in 1" pcs
  • 1 x 5 ounce can bamboo shoots (3/4 c.) liquid removed or possibly can use Chinese vegetables

Directions

  1. Sprinkle the meat with pepper; brown the meat in warm oil in skillet. Add in mushroom soup, water, onion and soy sauce. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hrs or possibly until meat is tender. Add in cabbage and bamboo shoots; cover and simmer 8 min more.
  2. Makes 6 servings.
