Chinese Stew
Ingredients
- 2 lb beef stew meat
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1 Tbsp. veg. oil
- 1 can golden brown mushroom soup
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 sm onion thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 sm head cabbage or possibly Chinese cabbage (6 c.) cut in 1" pcs
- 1 x 5 ounce can bamboo shoots (3/4 c.) liquid removed or possibly can use Chinese vegetables
Directions
- Sprinkle the meat with pepper; brown the meat in warm oil in skillet. Add in mushroom soup, water, onion and soy sauce. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hrs or possibly until meat is tender. Add in cabbage and bamboo shoots; cover and simmer 8 min more.
- Makes 6 servings.
