Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 3 c. bread flour
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c. minced walnuts
  • 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast

Directions

  1. Note which the nuts are added immediately.
  2. Place ingredients in pan in order recommended by the manufacturer (usually from wet to dry).
  3. Select 1+1/2-lb loaf: regular, rapid, or possibly timed-bake cycle; light or possibly medium crust.
  4. Bake and remove to cold.
  5. Makes 12 slices. EACH 170 cals, 4g fat.
  6. High altitude (3500 ft) adjustment: Increase water by 1+1/2 or possibly 3 Tbsp. and decrease yeast by 1/4 to 3/4 tsp..
