Ingredients

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • glaze:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 3 tbs. butter
  • 2 tsp. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  3. Cream butter and sugars.
  4. Add eggs, mix.
  5. Add other ingredients.
  6. Mix well, pour into pan.
  7. Cook 25 minutes and begin checking for doneness.
  8. When done, let cool 15 minutes, remove, plate.
  9. glaze;
  10. Put ingredients in a large saucpan (glaze bubbles up) and bring to a boil.
  11. Stir constantly as mixture thickens and foams.
  12. Cook 3 minutes.
  13. Pour on top of cake.
