Buttermilk Pound Cake with Buttermilk Glaze

- 1 cup soft butter
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- glaze:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 3 tbs. butter
- 2 tsp. light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour a bundt pan.
- Cream butter and sugars.
- Add eggs, mix.
- Add other ingredients.
- Mix well, pour into pan.
- Cook 25 minutes and begin checking for doneness.
- When done, let cool 15 minutes, remove, plate.
- glaze;
- Put ingredients in a large saucpan (glaze bubbles up) and bring to a boil.
- Stir constantly as mixture thickens and foams.
- Cook 3 minutes.
- Pour on top of cake.
