Ingredients

  • 1 Dozen Live Blue Crabs
  • 1/4 c Extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 Cloves garlic, crushed and pressed
  • 1 - 12oz bottle or can of malt or lager beer
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder

Directions

  1. Clean and split the live crabs (Tip: Stun crabs in ice water for 5 minutes or put them in the freezer for about 2 hours before cleaning).
  2. Heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium heat in a large saute pan or wok.
  3. Add the garlic, salt, Old Bay, and garlic powder to the oil.
  4. Add cleaned and split crabs when garlic is blossomed.
  5. Stir and saute crabs until about half way cooked.
  6. Add the beer and cover.
  7. Steam until crabs are completely cooked through.
  8. Serve plain or over pasta.
