Ingredients

  • 3 c. pinto dry beans
  • 1/4 pound salt pork and ham hocks
  • 2 dry red chilies
  • 1/4 onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 3 tbsp. ketchup

Directions

  1. Sort beans and soak for 4 hrs or possibly overnight. Cook beans in the same water; bring to a hard boil for 20 min. Turn down to medium low. Add in all ingredients, except ketchup. Add in ketchup last. Cook 4 hrs.
