Almond Oatmeal Cutouts

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 cups old-fashioned oats

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy
  2. Beat in the extract
  3. Combine the flour and the oats
  4. Gradually add to the creamed mixture
  5. Mix well
  6. Roll out between waxed paper to 1/4 inch thickness
  7. Cut with a floured 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter
  8. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets
  9. Bake at 350 F for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned
  10. Remove to wire racks to cool
