  • Zesty Sausage and Pasta

    When mother hubbard's cupboard is bare you make due with what you have on hand and I came up with this one last night and My family loved it.

    Ingredients

    • INGREDIENTS:
    • 1 pkg Italian mild sausage ground
    • 2 cups pasta (your favorite or what you have on hand)
    • 3 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 medium onion diced
    • 1 garlic clove minced or 1 tbsp. minced from a jar
    • 1/2 cup warm water
    • 1 chicken buillion cube
    • 1 can Rotel
    • 1 Jar Alfredo sauce
    • 1 8oz bowl of Sour cream
    • 3 tbsp. Italian season; divided
    • 1 Pkg of your favorite shredded cheese

    Directions

    1. DIRECTIONS:
    2. In a skillet heat the olive oil. When oil is hot add onions and garlic
    3. Sauté about 2 minutes then break apart sausage and add to skillet
    4. prepare pasta according to directions.
    5. Take ½ cup warm water, dissolve buillion cube
    6. when sausage is cooked through add Rotel, water mixture cook until water is just about gone.
    7. In a bowl combine alfredo sauce and sour cream and half the Italian seasoning
    8. When water is just about gone in the sausage mixture remove from heat and drain
    9. When pasta is tender; drain
    10. Mix the all together in a 13x9 baking dish
    11. Top with remaining Italian seasoning and 1 Pkg of your favorite cheese.
    12. NOTE: can substitute potatoes for pasta
