Zesty Sausage and Pasta
When mother hubbard's cupboard is bare you make due with what you have on hand and I came up with this one last night and My family loved it. Ingredients
- INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pkg Italian mild sausage ground
- 2 cups pasta (your favorite or what you have on hand)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1 garlic clove minced or 1 tbsp. minced from a jar
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 chicken buillion cube
- 1 can Rotel
- 1 Jar Alfredo sauce
- 1 8oz bowl of Sour cream
- 3 tbsp. Italian season; divided
- 1 Pkg of your favorite shredded cheese
Directions
- DIRECTIONS:
- In a skillet heat the olive oil. When oil is hot add onions and garlic
- Sauté about 2 minutes then break apart sausage and add to skillet
- prepare pasta according to directions.
- Take ½ cup warm water, dissolve buillion cube
- when sausage is cooked through add Rotel, water mixture cook until water is just about gone.
- In a bowl combine alfredo sauce and sour cream and half the Italian seasoning
- When water is just about gone in the sausage mixture remove from heat and drain
- When pasta is tender; drain
- Mix the all together in a 13x9 baking dish
- Top with remaining Italian seasoning and 1 Pkg of your favorite cheese.
- NOTE: can substitute potatoes for pasta
