Vinegar Gravy
This is a recipe for the vinegar gravy my Mom used to make in the 50's and 60's. I've been looking for months for the recipe and all this time it was in our family cook book. Wow! Does it ever bring back memories. Ingredients
- 5 T. flour, heaping
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. vinegar (apple cider)
- Dash of salt
- 1 t. Butter or margarine
Directions
- Mix egg yolks, sugar, water, flour and salt.
- Beat with whip until smooth.
- Cook in pan until thick.
- Add vinegar and butter.
- Cool.
