Vietnamese Inspired Chili
This is a work in progress. I wanted something a little different in a chili and decided to try to come up with a Vietnamese chili recipe. Ingredients
- 1 lb. Ground Beef
- 1 15.5 oz can Red Beans
- 2 8 oz cans tomato sauce
- 1 large Shallot, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, diced
- 1T Lemongrass, minced
- 2 T Fresh Cilantro, chopped
- 2 T Fish Sauce
- 1 t Five Spice powder
- ½ t Turmeric
- 1 T Brown Sugar
- 1 t Black Pepper
- 1 t Cumin
- 1 ½ t Chili Pepper
- 1 T Canola oil
Directions
- 1. Heat oil in frying pan over medium heat.
- 2. Fry shallot and garlic for 2 minutes.
- 3. Add ground beef into same pan and brown.
- 4. Put everything into a crock pot on high for 2 hours.
