Vareniki with cherry and sugar

Sour cherry with sugar in pastry makes the dish very tasty and reminds me the days in childhood when with my little friends we winced from picked from trees in garden sour cherry but still were the happiest children in the world :)

Ingredients

  • Flour:
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1-2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 0.5-1 spoon salt
  • Filling:
  • 700 gr cherry
  • 1-2 tea-spoon starch
  • 2 spoons sugar

Directions

  1. in bolted flour add eggs, warm water, add salt, and make dough, cover with napkin and leave for 30 minutes
  2. sugar with starch frozen cherry, warm it, pour off water
  3. roll thin braid from dough (~3 sm in diameter), slice it in pieces (by ~2 sm), with rolling-pin make thin rounds on desk with some flour on it, put the filling on a half of round, nip its border tightly
  4. boil vareniki in big amount of water
  5. serve with sugar or sour cream
