Tonkatsu Sauce
A sauce for Japanese pork cutlets. Used in fried rice, and yokisoba. Would probably go well on a lot of other things too! Ingredients
- 1 cup catsup
- ½ cup worchershire
- ½ cup sake
- 2 tblspn ground ginger
- 2 tblspn ground garlic
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup mirin (Kroger also didn’t carry this product, but it can be substituted with Cream Sherry)
Directions
- Put all ingredients in sauce pan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring occasionally.
- Reduce to a simmer for 25 to 30 mins.
- Skim any foam that rises to the top.
- Will keep refrigerated for 4 weeks.
